What do you do when you need to install an A/C unit but your windows open side-to-side instead of up-and-down? Well, you do your best to jury-rig a solution:

Looks pretty good, right? Well, yeah, right up until you raise the windowshade:

    dude, i also have a horrible sliding window. how is your improvised a/c working? should i do that too?

    It’s working okay NOW, but it turns out you should never put an A/C on its side. Something about the condensation blah blah blah could explode. So I moved it to a different window. I’m going to get a piece of wood to put in the empty space, too, so I don’t have to hear the rain hammering my make-shift foil.
