I’ve had my share of trouble with U-Haul (but that’s another story), and I’ve heard plenty of negative things about them from pretty much everyone I have ever talked to who’s used the company. I wouldn’t even describe this guy’s experience as unusually bad, but it is a pretty good depiction of a disorganized, hostile-to-customers, dinosaur company on a mission to lose its market share.

My friend rented a U-Haul that broke down on the Manhattan Bridge. That was the best U-Haul story I’ve ever heard.

i don’t know why anyone even uses uhaul anymore. before i did my move i had already heard approximately 1200 horror stories from friends, and when i went to check them out on epinion.com, they had the worst rating ever (with something like 800 negative reviews). budget was courteous, on time, and did everything they said they would (though i did have to call them to confirm the reservation beforehand).
